FAQs: Draft Local Plan consultation

The Local Plan consultations are held to get the public’s views on the policies that will help to shape Enfield’s future. The Council’s first formal consultation was held from 5th December 2018 to 28th February 2019.

The second draft Local Plan will be published for consultation later in 2019/early 2020.

What happens after the Stage 1 Issues and Options 2018-19 consultation has finished?

Firstly, thank you to everyone who has got in touch over email, post, Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn, attended a workshop, came to a drop-in session or given feedback through the consultation platform.

Unfortunately, comments on social media cannot be included as part of the official consultation response so if you have posted on Facebook or Twitter and would like your views to be considered please add them to www.enfield.gov.uk/plan1 or email localplan@enfield.gov.uk

All of the feedback from the consultation will be carefully analysed and considered to inform the next version of Enfield’s Local Plan.

Stage 2 of the Local Plan will then be consulted on later in 2019/early 2020 and we will get in touch with everyone who has shared their contact details and signed up to receive Local Plan updates .

Can comments be submitted after the 28th February 2019 for the Stage 1 Local Plan consultation?

If there is a valid reason, we can extend the deadline by a week or two for individuals, but as this is a statutory consultation, comments need to be submitted by 28th February 2019.

How will comments be incorporated into the Local Plan?

The Council will try and look to incorporate comments wherever feasible. We are required to consider all comments and respond to the key issues raised as part of the consultation on the draft Local Plan. We will publish these key issues and our responses alongside the next draft of the Local Plan in 2019/early 2020.

Will people receive a response regarding their comments?

All the key issues raised will be summarised and responded to in a report. This will then be published and made available as part of the next draft Local Plan consultation.

What responses will be made available?

When we publicly publish the comments, individual names will be anonymised.

During the Examination in Public, all responses to the draft Local Plan consultation and future consultations will be made available to an Independently appointed Planning Inspector and they will be aware of what each individual has said.
